Calm After the Storm

01/09/2019

It's 9am Sunday morning and Dylan is asleep... tranquillity. All is lovely.

2 hours earlier...

His new favourite thing as he grows and develops his sensory awareness is grabbing stuff, any stuff, within reach and lifting his legs up as if to do a backward roll and then slamming them down. It feels like for attention but to be fair to the little man, he's most likely just getting used to how he works for want of a better phrase.

Changing time with him used to be about making sure he doesn't piss all over his face while you're wiping up his previous work. Thankfully he doesn't really do that anymore (famous last words I know) but he does as I mentioned now just grab anything within his grasp and push it off the changing table. He's like our cat Theo now except thankfully you don't need to change Theo.

New challenges. His leg slamming I find funny. He seems very keen to start using his legs. It's the attention seeking side of it I like. Making cooing noises, crashing his legs on the mattress and then smiling up at you. It's hard to not love him but it's certainly a different kind of alarm to get you up at 7 on Sunday morning after he fancied booting off at 5 for a feed.

He's settled now though. I can chill for a bit while Theresa catches up on well earned sleep.

Happy Sunday everyone.
