Fiat fiasco!
All my life as a driver I dreamed of owning a fiat 500 in sky blue! That dream became a reality in 2014!
I am the proud owner of Larry!
My car is so distinctive that the kids at school spot me coming a mile off.
I love my car and we are ridiculously lucky to have two cars. My car is perfect for one to two passengers to nip about in.
My car was perfect and then Dylan came along!
People are often surprised when I open the boot of my car, reach in and pull out a tiny human who has now turned a funny shade of purple and is angry at the whole situation! Dylan has a bloody cheek to be angry when I am the one putting my back out, destroying my suspension and trying hard not to smack my child’s head on the car seat or surrounding fixtures while he makes zero attempts to help with his removal and lies there like a potato. I know I’m being irrational as he is 3 months old but come on child help mummy out!
This is the reason I have resigned myself to a life of public transport. Easier with the pram and no injuries in transit. Plus I get some exercise to support getting rid of the old mum tum!
Joking aside, we are looking to sell Larry to free up some cash as he spends most of the time in the car park as I can’t bring myself to be judged at the local supermarket as I wrestle the child back into his car seat via the boot with him screaming, my suspension creaking and MY face now going a funny shade of purple due to sheer exhaustion.
I get sad when I think about parting with Larry. As selfish and materialistic as it may seem; Larry is my independence and freedom. I tend to drive him when I am child free and it feels great to get in my car and run away for a while - especially when D decides to be... difficult! It’s a chance to be Theresa and not mum for 20 minutes while dad tries to keep him from screaming the house down. A normal return is hearing the child yelling from the flat as I get out my car on the street. We live in a second floor flat. I feel awful for Tom having to listen to his screaming, especially when I hear it and seriously contemplate getting back in my car and driving off again.
I will decide at some point when to sell my wonderful Larry but for now, he stays!
I think I will stick to public transport when I have the child in transit though. At least it then prevents the ridiculous set up bellow in the worlds tiniest car!
Rambling over!
Lots of Love!
Theresa
